EGT's idling

Im getting 230-250 degrees idling on a warm motor. What is the average everybody else sees?

i havnt paid much attention, since if motors warm, i just get in n go. Idling TO warm up, i see 100-150ish on both gauges, p/s being the tad hotter

You will probably get a variety of answers for this. Ambient temperature, and that of the a/c condenser & trans cooler, can affect the I/C temp thus affecting idle EGT. I, generally, saw 250-300* after all the temps stabilized.

Idle speed (rpm's) will affect it as well.

It varies with the temp, altitude, and planet alignment - I've seen 200 - 400 degrees on both EGT gauges with the sensors located on the manifold exits.

I seen 800 at an idle and took 5-10 minutes to drop back down to to the normal 250-400

It appears my EGTs are all over the place at idle. Which sounds about what everyone else is seeing. I never paid attention to them at idle until right before I pulled the turbo to do some work. I thought after turbo work it had dropped from around 330 too 240ish. Ive been seeing anywhere from 240-300 .
