So what do you think about the AIH delete in a cold area,I live at 6000ft and it gets cold. Will it be a bad thing when its cold and what do you gain as far as power. Is it worth it?

How cold does it get there? It's gets into the teens and sometimes single digits here in Missouri, and I haven't experienced any problems with it gone. One thing to remember too, is that the AIH only runs when a specified set of parameters are in place. Like truck running, in park, below a certain air temp, below a certian oil temp, etc.. It only runs when these things all happen. The AIH is basically to help control emissions on a cold truck when you first start it and it's cold outside.

I'd say pitch it!! It restricts something like 25%-35% of the airflow into the intake. Once you pull that thing out, you'll see just how big it was.

It's pretty cold here in the midwest, I haven't noticed any negative effects. No white smoke at idle or anything. I'm not really sure what you gain in power, but the AIH is huge and will block air flow. It's really easy to do and I used an special plug in its place to tap into for boost gauge.

I did the same thing. But, if you just want to plug the hole for the time being, you can get a 19mm drain plug for the Cummins diesel motors in a Dodge truck and it fits perfectly in there. I'm pretty sure it's 19mm, but I know it is a oil drain plug for the Cummins motors though. I picked up a generic one from O'reillys to use until I was ready to instally my boost guage.

I'm just offering up a chep alternative to a commercially available plug with that drain plug. Work especially for the gottahaveitnow's. It can't hurt the EGT's since more air will be coming in easier. I didn't feel much of a power increase, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be measured on a dyno.
