I was trying to answer what I thought was your question. There was a previous discussion (don't remember which thread) where someone noticed the fifth sensor and one of the Ford Techs that hangs out here (I think it was Vloney) said it was a particulate sensor to measure the efficiency of the DPF.

I think since 2008 they assumed (Ford) that the pcm would throw a code if the DPF was full.

I don't know of anyone who ever got there.
