I noticed one of my tires was low on air on the way to pick up some drywall, so I went and blew it up. While I was holding the nozzle, I noticed that the load rating was C. I'm sure glad I realized that before I put 500lb of sheet rock in the back.
This was my v10 excursion, not my diesel. I know the tires on my diesel.
I had some Load Range Ds on my Cummins. They sucked.
I can't imagine Load Range Cs on a full size truck. Hell, I don't even like them on passenger vehicles.
The tires on my Lightning are sun dried and cracking. They still have a ton of tread left, but they all need to be replaced soooooo, they will see some pavement burning runs before I have them replaced.
im looking to get some General Grabbers AT2 once my current tires need replaced but im going to run 285 /75 R16 their load range is D1 think thatll be a problem? i ran these on my old dodge 2500 and didnt have issues but the excursion a little heavier

These tires, in this size, are rated for a max load of 3305lbs at 65 psi.
Iirc some early excursions actually came with lr d tires. Really depends on how you use your truck. If you tow or haul you will want the lre and if you have a diesel you may be pushing lrc weight ratings up front already. The lre are generally built better and resist punctures and etc better too. But they require more pressure and have stiffer sidewalls and a harsher ride.
The grabbers are available in lre in that size, if I remember right. Personally I only run lre. If I was going to a 35" falken or something where the lrd is actually equal or greater to a stock 265 lre I'd feel ok about it though.
