I'm not expert on the law, but I do know when I was a kid, my dad explained that just being on private property wasn't trespassing, you had to be causing harm to the owner.
He came from the UK where it's much more common for the public to have the "right to roam" on private land, so maybe that is why he had that outlook.

Took a hike through the Othello tunnels and that was a blast. Fraser river is pretty much impassable in that area. They would send the chinese down on ropes and forget to bring them up before the blast went off. The excuse was that they were to heavy to pull up on time. Close to 200 died to make 7 short tunnels that are now an off the track tourist destination for the hardy. Daughter of someone in charge was reading Othello at the time and she named them.

I think Mr. Prentice thought it would be another cake walk once he sweet talked Danielle Smith over to the PC's to get her out of the way with the Wildrose. I've always been a PC guy but I am disgusted with them right now. Every time I hear that SOB on the radio talking about how people who have been laid off aren't just a statistic I want to puke! Why don't you try living on $464 a week Prentice!
On a more positive note I am searching for a motorcycle. Thinking of getting an older goldwing or something. Not the really huge ones but the older ones.

Yeah your not the only one impressed with Princess Prentice. In february new policy swallowed $603 CPP per month and now the government is going after my $12,990 federally administered hardship hardship grant that I got over 15 months when I first had my stroke. Apparently I'm supposed to pay the gov for not being healthy because I invested in REITS and CPP. I owe the government of Alberta over $20k for $13,600 in benefits. On the other hand, if I was drunk, stoned and lived in a homeless shelter I could get a total of $2370 a month cash benefits and full medical, not partial meds. World of difference between $130k+ and under 27k yet the taxes paid are the same. And the drunk driver that hit my truck never got charged.

I really wish I knew what was going on for the election but I have only been in Alberta for a limited time in the last 8 months. And being originally from Manitoba and having an NDP government growing up there really is no big difference in all governments other than we are going to see a tax hike to pay for health services and teachers and other essential services.

Glad this election went the way it did, now when I lose my appeal I can still fight it, NDP may not recognise the Ralph Klien clause. When Klien came in one of the concessions he made to certain agencies was the following. The final decission is at the descretion of the Executive Director. This allowed appeals to be overuled. Affects anyone who is dependent in some way on the social or medical services. Eg compo, AADL, AISH, welfare, CPP, OAS or Alberta health services. Does not seem to affect those who live in shelters, get welfare, aish, pension and work 10- 20 days a month and spend it all on dope and beer. Hmmmm
