Changed the oil in the truck and replaced the brake vacuum pump. I don't have any ramps at the moment, so I just ran it up on some lumber and slid myself underneath. It is a tight squeeze! Good thing I don't need to change the oil that often, probably just once a year.
Not sure if it's the angle of that driveway, but does the rear of that truck look lower than the front?
I don't mind a bit of rake to a truck, so I wouldn't mind if the rear was higher.
Maybe he's got a dead Chevy in the box or it's really a gasser. Driveway slope shouldn't make that big a difference, headlights must be hard on everybody's eyes if the tail end drags that badly. May have motor sold, guy has a blown 460 he's going to need to get rid of and I need a 460 dummy block.
Noticed today that some lowlife has destroyed the lock cylinder on my drivers side door. I never use the key, so that damage could be pretty old. Probably won't get that fixed. Doesn't look like it's messed up the door panel, so that's something.
Usually the crackheads in my 'hood just test the door handles hoping to find something unlocked. They've gotten me with that a couple of time. They don't normally seem to wreck things though.
My neighbourhood is becoming self policed and our crime rate is dropping fast. No more foot patrols, cops on horse back and the bike patrols have started staying away. Made it real easy to get rid of the main problems and now the strange ones know they're not welcome. Our biggest problems were the little Napoleans that were playing cops. Hope the new police chief isn't a P.R.agent like the last one, hope he loses his election bid.
Forgot to mention it but I got my insurance settlement check on Tuesday and I got 1500 for a truck that hasnt cost me anything but insurance and registration. Plus I get to sell the drive train, use the body as body metal on my 78 and wind up with a trailer. Not bad for a truck that was bought for $325 and paid for with a $380 grant, 3 cans of change and produced $190 in scrap metal. If I could find one of these a month it would supplement my dentside habit pretty good. New neighbour works in a body shop, see what happens when farm boys become the law and clean the weeds out of the gutter. Happy, Happy Pappy, lifes good.
