Please excuse me if this has already been suggested or if it is totally off-base. But in addition to posting one sticky locked thread about what a stock truck's AE or whatever data/graphs should look like.
How about turning the telescope around and posting one thread per problem starting with the most common problems first. In other words one thread per:
"If your AE graphs look like this, trouble shoot this component or that wiring by doing this ..."
Entitled something like this: "AE: Elevated ICP - Troubleshoot XYZ"
It seems to me that using AE (except maybe for Tugly and Y2KW57) is in reaction to a perceived problem with the vehicle. And when it is used it displays stuff, which at least I, wouldn't even know how to interpret without guidance. So one thread per elevated or under performing AE PID with a range of trouble shooting suggestions stemming from that data could be helpful to a diagnoses.
(I don't even own AE so if this misses the point, again please excuse me...)
I just let these things slide..... The freaking weather is kicking my butt. We have a new cherry line under construction and they are still pouring the last part of the floor. The cherry blossoms popped this week, three weeks early. I am so monumentally screwed.
I hope they still have blossoms on the fruit trees when the annual Blossom Festival takes place.
Well, before this gets all graph heavy, my original thought was to get the data up there. Once it's up, we can move on to phase II with graphing - but that also involves sifting through dozens of hours of data in hundreds of files to find mere seconds of data that shows anything informational.
My master plan was to have this like the BEST map - on Google Docs or the like. Some of us would have links to the data in our signatures, so it would be easy to find. Once the data is all cleaned up and posted, then we can sift for WOT runs and no-starts.
I can send PMs to those that volunteer (thank you for that) when I have some time, then I can share with them how to clean up the data without making it unreadable by AE.
For what it's worth. I have done this alot on my old data files - made it unreadable by AE because I removed the time columns that show up every other column.
Also, Until recently (the last year) my data does not contain FIPW or Mass Fuel Desired. Mostly ICP, duty cycle, speed, or RPM's.
Then on top of it I have graphs without data files, but only a few of them. Still good to compare are picture the results - just no columns of data entries.
I always keep the raw data, I never know what I need it for. I know that AE doesn't play it back if I've messed with it too much.
I have my data organized into folders and sub-folders - stock, stage II, this tuner, that tuner, the other tuner, this problem, that problem, this mod, that mod, etc.... I've been able to slowly watch the progression in the data with every wrench turn.
Fact: The 4" exhaust makes a difference in the data on stock injectors and turbo with good air in. You don't reach a higher max boost, but the time to max is quicker.
I have a list, but I'm working on organizing it to make it easier to conform to. I always like to see related PIDs next to each other, but AE has the PIDs laid out in alphabetical order. While my list is not alphabetical, it hits the high points. The only one missing is Torque Convert Slip, and I haven't yet put Mass Fuel Desired to much use - it's too fickle from truck to truck:
If it works anything like an AEM or Megasquirt it really shouldn't make a difference. I think this is a great idea and the selected parameters should be good sometimes simpler is better. I know we gathered some good data from mine last night, which you are welcome to post here. Thanks again.
I typically keep my AE logs down to 9 PIDs, but I have conducted experiments with fewer PIDs on my version 10. I have not seen data sampling gains or losses by going with more or fewer PIDs. My data pace might be set by the OBDII adaptor... I dunno.
I'll try to get some actual work started on it this weekend, but my job went completely sideways with an unexpected deadline move on a huge project (new cherry packing line). Spring came early in my area (cherry, apricot, and peach blossoms out since last week), and that can wreak havoc in the fruit packing industry.
I'm about ready to start diving into this project.
Before I go on to new business, I'd like to make sure I haven't forgotten any loose projects out there in the forum. I was asked to analyze data in PMs, I've had stuff emailed to me, and I've offered help with one-on-one projects here and there - but I got lost with computer upgrades and work. Have I left anything hanging with anybody out there? My head will be buried soon, and I don't want to let any friends down.
I'll dedicate this week to past projects, but I won't be taking on anything new - other than the data or emergencies. After that, this task will keep me pretty busy. I'll be PMing the volunteers when I have things in place.
Rich (Tugly), I'd be willing to help whenever you get to that point, if more help is needed and my schedule allowing.
Other Rich, where are you finding all these vehicles to datalog? Are they FTE trucks or just friends? I never realized how many people around that area are into their 7.3s for more than just driving. I t'd be nice to met a few more fellow "enthusiasts".

Baatzy
a bit of both, Matt (Mats027.3) across the street in Iowa brought his Excursion over - very sweet Ex , Anthony (abowman) e-mailed me some datalogging (experiencing similar low ICP #'s), Chris had 2 and just bought another one here in town - a dually with only 100K , Chad has two 7.3L Excursion down the road, brother in law has an F-350........plus whomever I met through the years that happens to stop by on there way to the Black Hills towing their campers..........
We'll have a BBQ/GTG/Beer at my place now that the warm weather is here soon - You'll meet them. It's all good in my book. I'm grateful all that Tony, John, Ben & Rocky have taught me over the years..........
That's a lot of trucks to keep track of, dang. You'll have to let me know if you get something together. It is looking like I will be at home working construction/farming again this summer, so I may have a chance at being available.
