All HPOP's are not created equal?
I'm looking around on Ebay, at HPOP's. Really just killing time, as I was planning on going with OEM. I see all of these HPOPs on there, I'm assuming rebuilds. Saw one from Forbidden Diesel, and there's several other sellers. I've already been warned to stay way far away from anything that says Pensacola Diesel on it, but what about some of these others? Is it worth saving a few bucks on a rebuilt pump?

I've personally seen problems with the Ford Remans also. Seems to be a crapshoot. If yours has failed you don't really have a choice but I wouldn't change it as a preventative measure.
As far as aftermarket stuff, these pumps have some very good reviews but they are pricy:

Ah, the later design four piston pump is a much better design.

Also, try giving Ed's crew a call at 515-897-4459 and tell them what you want on the phone. I'm sure they'd be happy to quote you a price. I check the website and didn't see the pump but he says he's got a lot of OEM Ford parts available.
