The other day I noticed the temperature gauge in my expo was not working. Decided to dig into it today. The gauge has actually rotated around and is stuck against the stop peg. I took the cover off, rotated it back, and reinstalled. Tested it several times and it worked great. Got in the truck to run some errands and when I started it I watched the gauge spin all the way back around. Any Idea what the issue is? All other gauges work like they should.
What is the usual operating temperature for the cylinder head temp sensor? I'm used to seeing around 200ish from a standard ect sensor. I was screwing around with the autel today and I'm showing a reading of ~312*F . The engine is definitely not running hot.
I'll be tearing into the truck next month to do a timing set , v cover gaskets, intake, plug boots, plugs, t-stat , cht sensor and a coolant change. It has a slight rattle on startup and I'm thinking it may be the chains being a little loose.
