Coolant Filter Change Procedure

My 05 Powerstroke X has a coolant filter installed by the previous owner.

I have no directions for the kit. To change the filter is it as simple as close the valves and spin off the filter and put a new one on?

Any need to bleed the system?

Close off the valves, and change the filter. Make sure you use a non SCA charged replacement. If you have a bypass filter system, there's no need to bleed the system afterwards.

Non SCA? Not familiar with that term.

Supplemental Cooling Additive. Also referred to as Long Life filter, but double check to be sure.

After you change the filter run the vehicle up to temp and then check the coolant level. You might have to add a little to make up for what was in the old filter.

I change mine once a year.
