The only ones I have had covered were already turning loose from the headliner structure and the foam under the cloth was dead and crumbly. In that case you MUST remove the old dead foam. I have a friend who does auto upholstery and specializes in street rod interiors so I take his instructions, peel it off/remove the old foam and he covers it in original material. Usually $50 or less material and labor. That's why I've never done one myself.

Shops around me are 300 to redo a headliner so That is Why I did it myself. The headliner material was over $50 so...

I did my headliner myself too but I have a single cab. I used 3m spray adhesive that stuff is strong.

I found a place here (St. Pete, FL) that did a great job on my 2004 Buick LeSabre - It looks brand new. color was a perfect match, and the fit is essentially as good as factory.
He pulled everything, cleaned, re-glued, laid the fabric, and re-installed in about 2 hours. Cost $150. & that was for a full-size, 4 door passenger car. Not sure what the F150 would have been, but I'm sure it would have been less, and taken less time.
Check Google & Craigslist.
