They put a straight six in the GM Holden Commodores here in 1986-1988. Naturally aspirated for a period, and then they ran a turbocharger unit on it. It was imported here to replace the old motor which didn't like the new unleaded petrol. I think a lot of people were shiity that it replaced the local variant, but it soon became apparent that the engine was so much better than the local product. Nowadays, these Commodores are quite sought after models.

My lingo, sorry! Bent 8 is just a slang way of saying V8
