Its a bitch regardless. I always put the new ones in the freezer overnight. Also take a little propane torch and heat the knuckle where the ball joint goes. Dont get it red hot but get it hot. Remove the ball joint from freezer and press in place. Makes it somewhat easier.( or maybe its just in my head)
I managed to get the ball joints installed with out too much drama.
The upper ball joints installed with out any issues. The rubber boot was detached so it was pretty straight forward.
The lower ball joints were a different story. For whatever reason, the lower ball joints rubber cap does not separate from the ball joint itself leaving one to pray that the cover isn't destroyed in the process. I put some grease on the outside of the rubber boot, that seems to have made a marginal difference as the ball joint was installed with out TOO much damage. After installing them I was able to load them up with grease and they held ok.
I think it will be good enough to get me through a couple of years at which time I can switch over to Moog.
