I don't know why or how your local dealer sucks but if they're the only route you've taken its simply not enough.

You need to realize the kit for your year has not been available new for a few years now; most similar kits or parts aren't under the same 10 year requirement a manufacturer much have repair parts available to the general public. After that time the aftermarket tends to take over supply-wise unless a part is in current and common use across more than one product line.

As I said earlier you need to first obtain the kit number then do an extensive internet search for that kit. A decent dealer will help you locate one if its listed in a dealers inventory---they can typically query one another's parts inventories and buy business-to-business.

Don't blame the dealer for not having parts deemed too old or in too short demand to keep around for the once-in-a-lifetime customer.

I've been trying to find the kit or parts number, and I've called my local dealer multiple times since last week, but I haven't gotten anywhere with them. I've got a few more places I am going to call at lunch, we'll see if I can dig anything up.

Find user NumberDummy here on FTE----he has an amazing library of Ford parts including those now considered obsolete or no longer in production.
