Adding cruise control (VSC) to 02 E250 5.4?

Hey guys. I have an 02 E250 5.4 that does not have factory cruise control. I would like to add some sort of cruise control. Factory, if it's prewired or whatever, or aftermarket if they make some decent kits that aren't too much of a pain.

First of all, I'd like your help on what I should look for to see if my van may be pre-wired, or have the factory configuration to allow me to add the factory cruise buttons somehow. I'm not sure what to look for or where to look for it. Most of what I could find on a forum search was specific to the E150's.

Thanks!
Ben

I believe you need, for starters, steering wheel with controls, cruise control master cylinder, cruise control servo, cruise control throttle cable. I'm sure I missed quite a bit, but like I said this is just a start.

If you want the factory system instead of an aftermarket will fit kit the first thing to do is determine whether your chassis can accommodate the OEM parts.

If so equipped there will be a 10 pin flat connector capped off attached to the driver's side inner fender under the Battery Junction Box, near the master cylinder, radiator reservoir---in that general area. Here's an image:

That connector is already integrated into the chassis wiring which makes the factory kit a plug-n-play installation. The uphill battle will be finding a complete NOS OEM VSC kit. [NOS = New Old Stock; OEM = Original Equipment Manufacture; VSC = Vehicle Speed Control (Ford's name for cruise control}.

Not sure how much fun this would be in a full-size van…

Mine doesn't have the 10pin connector. Anybody ever install an aftermarket cruise control/VSC kit on this vintage of E250 that would have any helpful tips?
