06 Escape ECM communication

06 Escape ECM communication
I am working on a 2006 Escape that originally came in with a misfire. It had three bad coils, and they had burned out three of the coil drivers in the computer. It had a new computer put in, but will not communicate with the scanner now to program the keys. The old computer would still communicate, and the vehicle can be started and run on three cylinders with that computer, but unfortunately it needs to run a bit better than that.
Is there something I am missing about getting communication with a new computer?

Ok, I got some good hands on time with it today. The company that rebuilt the computer painted it, so I scraped the bolt head area and where the spring clip hits in the back and now it has communication. It even is driving all the coils now, but floods if I put the fuel pump relay in. I cleaned the front three plugs, and have gotten it to cough a few times on starting fluid but now the batter is dead again. I guess I'll mess with it more tomorrow.

This thing is still driving me nuts, I have spark on all the coils but it's not great, and I cannot get it started. It floods if the fuel pump relay is in, and won't run on propane put in through the crankcase air port on the inlet tube. I tried a set of different plugs with no change either. Is there a way to check the timing on these engines?

The flooding is even across all cylinders, the injector plugs are buried under the intake so I haven't put a noid on them individually. Fuel pressure doesn't drop with the key off, so I figure they are behaving for the most part.
I did find just under 2ohms resistance from the battery to the power grounds on the ECM plug, that dropped to less than .5 with cleaning the chassis ground by the battery tray. So, now I have less than half an ohm from the plug to the battery, still have spark that barely lights my spark tester, although it gives a blue spark on a plug outside the engine now.

Ok, we are going to try another ECM in this thing. It has spark, just not very strong, and may not even be sparking in the cylinders under compression. The one in it now is the original and has been rebuilt by Blue Streak, it went back to them once and they said it's fine, but it obviously isn't.

Junkyard PCM, quick flash at Ford and it's up and running. Blue Streak rebuilt the original computer, it was sent back and they swore it worked fine, but it had very weak spark across all cylinders. I have never seen a COP engine do this, but apparently it's possible, and this is the last Blue Streak computer I will install in anything.
