i have a 1983 Ford F-150 with a 4.9 300 I6 and I just changed my carberator and I just want to know if it is done right the new carberator has one more vacuum line hook up that my old one did not have and some people I seen on here have plastic vacuum Hoses my are all rubber and I broke my ported vacuum switch so now my truck runs like **** and is there away to get away without using the vacuum switch
I take it to mean there is now a vacuum leak? That will never do. As you probably know, the distributor needs a source of vacuum for ignition advance at cruise and part throttle. It will run "OK" without it, sort of, and fuel mileage will drop? Your question would best be asked in the 150 forum.
