89f150 fuel issue
i have a 89 f150 six cylinder with manual tranny. truck bucks when being driven so bad you have to hold in the clutch to get it to stop and then it shuts off. started with the cat since the power seemed to be gone but thats is fine. now pulling off the fuel pump on the rail to replace but just not sure if thats it, already did filter and checked all plugs,wires, etc. trying not to go broke so any help would be great!!! truck will restart when it cuts off and do have the whine noise by front tank. also not sure if it matters but rear tank has not been used in 2 years as it has a hole in it

I'm no expert but my 73 F-100 has two tanks also and it got a little "hoppy" on me once. Turned out my tank switch valve had failed and I was sucking some air in from my empty tank with my fuel from my full tank. New switch ($45 cdn) and no more problem. You may want to try the forum specific to your truck as those people would be more in the know.
