Okay, so I did the procedure for starting the truck, and it turned over and started, so now, I went to use the key to shutdown the truck and it still ran, ....I had to unplug the computer right next to the drivers battery to shut it down. It didn't matter whether the key was in the ignition or not lol. So what would you guys suggest my next step should be?
I still suspect a problem with the remote start system. Hopefully it has a plug somewhere you could disconnect to turn it off or disconnect the power to it.
^^^ I too suspect a problem with your alarm/remote start. Do you know what system it is? Or who installed it locally? If you want to bypass it you will have find the ignition cut - off wires to the system and disconnect them from the box and hook them back to each other to complete the circuit. Try to find a wiring schematic for whatever system it is. (Make friends with Google and search)
Okay thanks, I'll check into the location of everything, the "bypass" for the ignition is separate from the brain of the system correct?
I don't know what system you have but the ones I'm familiar with used either an ignition wire (+ to the pcm from the key switch) or starter solenoid trigger wire to disable the vehicle to prevent theft. The wire would get cut and the 2 ends would get hooked in to the security/ auto start module. By doing this, unless you hit the key fob unlock button the vehicle wouldn't start and/or crank.
