First of all i want to say hi to everyone here, i'm new to the site! but i'm in dire need of help, i'm sure this will rattle alot of the peoples brains as it did mine, and alot of my friends.. but i'm sure theres alot of geniuses on this site who will know exactly what my issue is. So, my batteries were dead and wouldnt take a charge at all, so i replaced them. Now when i put the new batteries in, everything came on.. the vacuum pump, the fuel pump, dash lights.... but no start, this is driving me crazy, i've checked and rechecked my batteries still 12.6 volts.. i've checked the little plug going to the starter on the passenger side, its got power and no corrosion. i've removed the ignition and well everything is still on, i'm almost wondering is this is ecm/bcm/ficm issue? any help would be just awesome! thanks.
yes injectors buzz, no digital guages, is there something in the ficm that will back feed power to the truck and turn everything on without the keys even in the ignition?
Does the engine crank and not start, or not crank at all?
Do you have an aftermarket alarm/security system that could be interrupting the start signal?
There is a remote starter on the truck I have the module completely unplugged and sitting on my console. I have removed the ignition already. And still same issue.
So, there is a wire on the passenger side fender that is capped off. You can press the tabs releasing the wire and take it to the positive battery post (it's just long enough) and the motor should turn over.
Look on the passenger side near the heater fan motor and locate this connector. Coming back toward the front of the truck, it has a single wire inside the plastic sheathing that will be yellow with a blue stripe.
Squeeze the round connector like this to unlock it while twisting and pulling. It should unplug fairly easily.
There is a single pin inside the front half of the connector.
Touching this pin to the positive battery post SHOULD cause the starter to spin over and crank the engine. If you still have the factory battery terminals, this little bolt sticking up seems like it was made for this purpose. If it doesn't crank, there is an issue with the batteries, starter, or the electrical connections between them, or the engine is locked up due to mechanical failure or a cylinder filled with fuel or coolant. If the key is off it will only spin over, if the key is on it should start.
This shouldn't cause any significant sparking when you touch it to the battery and it shouldn't get hot while cranking. It won't hurt the truck and it won't hurt to drive it if you started it this way just be sure to reconnect it after it fires up.
I'll be into work tomorrow and I'll try that out. Thanks hopefully it'll start and maybe reset itself? I was wondering if it was the remote starter that has fried something. I'll check into everything tomorrow and let you folks know, thanks

It may be a problem with the remote start. This is just a quick work around to maybe get it started and test the starter and batteries.
I've been told by members here (you Know who you are) that a specific procedure must be followed after batteries changed/disconnected.
Key On (Not Start) for 10 seconds, then Off for 10 seconds - repeat once more, then Start.
You will definitely have a DTC of 0603 (Keep Alive Memory) due to batteries. This can be Read/Erased at AdvancedAuto, etc.
After Erase, you will have a P1000 (Drive Cycle Incomplete) which will go away when it's damn good & ready (LOL).
It may be necessary to do the VGT Relearn procedure before the DTC will self clear.
Of course, all this is After you resolve your present No Crank issue.
If it's a remote start and alarm, one thing to try is to unlock, lock, wait to have alarm armed, then remote start it. Then unlock, put key in to on position, press the brake pedal. This may reset the alarm. That's how it works for mine. Every once in a while if I unlock and then wait to long to start, or I have ship it it off to fuel, when I go to start, only the remote start procedure will work above. If you have the manual for the remote start you can investigate the trouble codes, it should be able to set you codes for what is wrong too. I see you have it disconnected right now, but it is worth a try, if all else fails.
