R134a conversion

I am working on an 89 F250 that needs an a/c conversion. I have not been able to find hoses for this, does anyone have a source or will I need to have hoses made?

Hoses? How about just using the R134a-R12 adapters?

Or, are you looking for replacement hoses/lines for the underhood system?

i would leave it R-12. the R-12 works a lot better than 134A

I don't know of any hoses made for R124 retro fits, but I've done plenty of conversions and it's really not a problem. If you keep R12 hoses you will probably have to top off thee 134 before every A/C season. Also the synthetic R134 does work best in a conversion IMO. Another possibility would be to use the complete A/C system from a 94+ truck and make it work.

The truck has bad hoses already, especially the liquid line and suction line, but I can't find hoses anywhere. As far as R12, I don't have the equipment for that, or any R12. I know it works better, but is too expensive anymore.

Depending on the engine (you didn't say which one is in the truck) Four Seasons makes hoses for the 89.

As far as R134a goes, if you can put a condenser and an o-tube from an R134a model, it will do better than with the R12 versions of those parts.
