Arrow 460 Efi to carb for jet boat, Heads ?

Going to convert the efi 460 from a 1992 f350 to a carb setup. My question is in regards to the efi heads whether I should keep them or not.

Is there any reason I shouldn't just run a price Motorsport efi manifold to carb adapter for a stock motor with a cam? Or should I look at putting carb heads and manifold on instead?

Thanks!

My concern is the efi intake manifold being used in a carb setup. But price wants $300+ for an efi head to carb manifold adapter!!

What are you looking to do with the engine? The EFI intake is specific to the EFI heads. To get any serious amount of power out of the engine the heads need work. If you buy the adapter, dump money into the heads and want more you have to start over. They're good heads for what they are, but they're sort of an evolutionary cul-de-sac.

It wouldn't be that hard to keep the EFI equipment and have a much easier starting, more efficient boat...

You can use a carb intake, modified with injector bosses, an Edelbrock adapter elbow to go from a Holley flange to round TB and use an 80mm round mustang TB and keep the stock EFI with carb heads.

Depends on his goal for power. That motor is going to have about 230 hp/390tq in its stock form. Good for a big houseboat but not for making high speed runs from Havana to Miami. As I said, depends on his goal.
