Ford use to sell a 514ci stroker crate engine, and I can't seem to find any info on whats listed in the Ford Racing catalog. Does Ford have anything to compete with Chevy's 572ci? Whats Fords largest stroker engine? I've seen some over 800ci, but have never seen any chevy's this high.
Ford Racing Performance Parts still offers the 514cid 600 horsepower crate engine. It is in the 2003 F.R.P.P. catalog. Part # is M-6007-C514. It is rated at 600bhp@6,250rpm, with 590 ft./lbs. of torque@4,750rpm. Compression ratio is listed as being 9.8:1.They also offer a 514cid short block assembly. Part # is M-6009-C514. The catlog lists two 460 blocks & one 429 block, their suggested cid capacity, recommended maxium stroke, and maximum horsepower. They are : 460 (# M-6010-A460)
Max. cid : 598
Max. stroke : 4.500"
Max. HP@RPM : 1,500@8,000
Oops! I forgot to list cylinder bore ranges for those three blocks. For # M-6010-A460 it is 4.360-4.600", M-6010-A500 it is 4.360-4.625", and for M-6010-A96 it is 4.500-4.625".
Those are real numbers that are definitely attainable. The block that lists up to 815 CID is a tall deck height aluminum block by RDI, Raceparts Distribution Inc. and it runs about $4700 bare block. Check 'em out.
bigsnag, high end is being polite. Putting 800ci together will end up in the area of a new E class Mercedes. Purchase and finishing of the block casting alone will approach $10k.
