I am getting so tired of this truck always having something go wrong. I even bought the 2 volume manual set from Helms because I will need to keep this one a while. Now the vacuum pump quit. No fuses are labeled for the vacuum pump. Any ideas??? The last electrical item to fail was due to a blown fuse, but the fuse was marked for something else. I ended up wiping out my sound system programming by trying all the fuses. I would really like to avoid that. Anyone know what fuse powers the vacuum pump on a 2003 PSD?
HHHEEELLLLPPPP!!!!!
Thanks!!
Tim
The vacuum pump on my 05 quits working every once in a while. I unplug it and verify that there is power with a test lamp. As soon as I plug it back in it starts working. It is as if the connection is being made all the time.
Okay, I should have included a disclaimer: mine's only a 2000. I'd assume the 03 is the same, but you know what happens...
Did you try the owner's manual for a fuse list? Better yet, do you have a meter to check for voltage at the connector? Decent dmm's are down to like $15, no reason not to have one...
It turns out that the "fuse list?" in the owners manual is incomplete. Many fuses power things that aren't included in the list. My turn signals and overhead trip computer stopped working a few weeks back and it turns out a fuse labeled something like "ignition run feed" was the culprit. One of the guys on here said the fuse for the backup lights also powers the pump, but my lights work. The $165 factory service manual set I bought because my truck is such a POS doesn't include the fuse box. I will be checking the power at the pump today. Thanks for the input!!
