The engine turns over fine by hand I did put some oil down the glow plug holes initially just to give it some lube. But I'm not sure what the problem is but when I put power to the starter through a 850CCA battery, it doesn't turn over very well, it turns over slow and hesitates. I'm using jumper cables from starter to battery and a electrical wire from the starter hot to the solenoid...I complete the circuit at the battery w/ one of the jumper cable clamps.
I've tried another battery and both were fully charged but same result. Do I need two batteries at once to make it work?
1. Did you suck out the excess oil from the cylinders ?/Hydraulic lock possibly.
2. Did you reinstall the glow plugs on all cylinders before trying to crank it? If so and there is excess oil in the cylinders revisit question #1.
It doesn't take a lot of oil in the jug to increase the compression value to nearly impossible to roll it with the glow plugs installed.
Will it spin up freely without the plugs installed?
