pulled codes today and am a little confused on a few
KOEO-
111 - system pass
CM-
*179 - stumped on. have had this for a while cant figure it out. running really rich! the exhaust exits at 45*s and the edges of the bumper are black.
*334- cant shake this one as well. would this be because the Egr is not hooked up to the LT headers?
*634- this one is new but as i have found out reading on here i have no symptoms of this
KOER-
311- this is fine as there is no smog equiptment
538- operator error
536- operator error
532- operator error
The truck has true dual exhaust with no cats and glasspacks off of the long tube headers. one pipe has a leak at the collector and at the engine side of the glasspack. (in the process of getting it fixed) would this be enough to give a rich reading?
really stumped on the 634 as it means "MLP sensor voltage out of self test range: A/C on." well its winter so the a/c has not been on and it needs recharged anyway so it has never been on. (wing windows are my a/c)
Any input on the continuous memory codes would be appreciated! this is a 92 f-150 with the 5.0 and E4OD transmission.
I know what they mean. Could 179 be brought on by by an exhaust leak and a K&N filter allowing too much air? I have replaced all vacuum lines unless it a manifold leak.
No the engine does not use more air because of the k&n it just flows more freely exhaust leak depends on how bad it is and if it's before the o2 sensor and yes you could have vacuum leaks at intake manifold
So the EGR tube isn't connected to the header but did you plug the tube or otherwise block the EGR valve? If not that is a big problem as it's now a giant air leak, but you can't just remove it all as that will throw a bunch of codes, instead cut a piece of sheet metal and sandwich it between the valve and intake and remove the tube, but leave the EGR system connected normally.
Also what did you do with the O2 sensor is it installed in the passenger side header collector? If not get that done ASAP.
MLP Sensor is the shift level position sensor on the transmission, this is a critical sensor for correct trans operation so this also has to be fixed asap.

That sounds good. Remove the tube from the Egr and goes under the upper intake?.
And the O2 sensor is on the driver side.. Why would this be? It is the way I got the truck. Does it have to be on the passenger side?
What is the MLP sensor called at the parts store because nothing comes up under that..
