93 f150 5.0 engine codes
I have a 93 F150 with 102,000. It has the 5.0 engine and an automatic. It seems to run pretty well but the engine light comes on under acceleration and eventually goes off on its own. I went by Autozone and had the codes run. They came out as follows:
KOEO 11 and the memory codes in the KOEO were 31, 32, 33
The KOER codes were 13, 73 and 25
The guy helping me cleared the codes and I went on my way. The engine light came back on on the way home under acceleration. It went back off on its own.
Again, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the driveability of the vehicle.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Scot
On the KOEO codes, the 11 states "System PASS"
The 31 is "EVP circuit below minimum voltage"
The 32 is EVP Voltage below closed limit"
The 33 is "EGR valve opening not detected"
The last three codes above were all "memory codes" and not active.
On the KOER codes I found that the 13 stated "Cannot control rpm during KOER self-test low rpm check"
I could not find the meanings of codes 73 or 25

25
Knock Sensor signal not detected during engine run self test
73
Insufficient throttle position change detected during dynamic response portion of engine run self test
I am definatly not a mechanic, but these two codes would lead me to guess your knock sensor and your throttle positon sensor are intermittently acting up.
I by no means suggest you start throwing money at these sensors based on my half witted translation but it is the best I can do for you.
Your other memory codes are from your EGR valve positon sensor which I have seen discussed here quite a bit. It sounds to me like a fairly common sensor to go out.
I would suggest speaking with a Ford garage. Each of these problems may be individual seperate issues or they may all lead back to one problem. Sometimes one defective part can cause a whole bunch of seemingly unrelated parts to act up too even though there is nothing wrong with them.
Hopefully this helps at least somewhat.

A good independant is a better choice I think.
But I think the problems are EGR and related controls and could also be a bad vac line or connection to them.
