I need to buy new battery cables for my 1994 Ford Ranger 2.3L
I called the dealer and they want a WHOPPING $141.00 just for the positive cable! Does anyone know of a site or a number I can call to get a much cheaper price......and BTW the cables the dipsticks sells at parts stores will not work!
Don't use the "clamp on the cable" typ of setup if you build your own cables. You are just asking for trouble.
When I built my own for my tractor I converted to a marine type setup with wingnuts holding big ring terminals to the clamps. The ring terminals are soldered to the cable as I don't have a crimper that big.
yeah, go to an auto electric alternator/starter etc. rebuild shop and get a set of welding cables made up with the better clamps; use mil spec batty clamps like these: http://www.superford.org/registry/ve...s=5445#content
Napa, etc.
