Unhappy Kick-down problems

Hi! I have a -99 Explorer limited that isn't changing gears properly.
When I'm doing approx. 60mph and hit the accelerator the gearbox changes to a too low gear (2:nd?) and the engine overrevs (more than 6000rpm).

If I don't hit the accelerator as hard, it shifts down normally.
Any idéas what this might be? Electronic problems? I heard that there are some valves inside the gearbox that can be damaged?

Br Roger

Kick-down problems

try resetting the computer disconnect the negitive battery cable and leave it like that for 15-30min this will force the computer to relearn the shift points i had a similar problem with my 99explorer and this fixed it just when you turn it back on besure to let it idle until it finds its idle then just drive the car around
