Tilt column for an E-350 custom
Tilt column for an E-350 custom
I have a 1991 E-350 thats been upgraded with the 7.3L IDI turbo and an 02 ZF-6 tranny with the dyna 90 dually rear axle.
I'm going thru it correcting the previous owner's mistakes in the build and doing rust work, but i hate driving it. The steering wheel feels just odd. There doesn't seem to be any such thing as an econoline floor shift, tilt column and i was wondering if anyone knew if an older F-350 manual truck column would work.
If nothing else, im going to take a sawzall to the column and cut off the shifter linkage and crap, seeing that i now have a proper transmission, and find a CV joint to weld in place and build a bearing bracket that tilts the wheel some. Or cut the bracket under the dash and reweld it a quarter inch higher or something. but thats a TON of work, id rather just replace the column.
Anyone know if something out there would bolt in?
