Years ago, N of the Arctic circle they would leave the trucks in gear (auto trans) and engine idling to keep engine/trans warm. Std trans would freeze solid...
I have heard of that... And one reason I choose to NOT move quite that far North in Alaska. I don't need that much of a cold weather challenge.
