I`m looking at a 2104 f150 and the window sticker does not say 50 state emissions on it.
So what`s the difference and what has to be changed to make it 50 state compliant?
It'll say under the hood whether or not it's cali legal. My 2011 is not 50 state legal apparently as it doesn't say that it was built with cali emissions.
Years ago my salesman told me that Cali dictated a longer emissions warranty period than the other states. I have no idea if that was true then or even now.
Look under the hood. Ford puts a sticker there to tell you what emissions standard the vehicle was built to.
California (and the rest of the "green" states that require CA emissions) has the most stringent emissions requirements. Any vehicle that was built to CA standards automatically exceeds the "federal" standards.
California (state only) mandates different emissions warranty than does the federal government for the rest of the country. All this is spelled out in your owner's manual or the accompanying warranty guide. If yours is missing, see my signature for a link to download a replacement.
