Emissions

Has anybody heard about F150's in Texas not meeting California emissions?
I'm looking at a truck at Mac Haik in Georgetown and I live in Pennsylvania. The sales manager just told me that in the past few years something with the California emissions has changed and that they might not be able to legally sell me a truck because of it...

Not all F-150's are 50 state emissions ready. Mine isn't.

PA has adopted CA standards.

Clean Energy in My State: Pennsylvania Adopts the California Emissions Standards for Automobiles

It appears they have also adopted the used car importation rule as well, although this does not spell that out:

PA DEP BAQ - Cars and Trucks - Clean Vehicles Program

If you move to PA with your 2008 and up car that you've owned for a while and it has over 7500 miles, you can probably register it, just like CA. I would double check that.

You can not buy a 49 state vehicle in another state and register it as a new or near new vehicle in CA, and PA has adopted that rule as I read the last link.

So you can't buy a 49 state vehicle and take it home.

A 50 state is OK.
