1970 3/4ton cs went to the junkyard for my sunday fix and the truck wouldnt shut off at the key had to pull the red wire off the silonoid with the key off toshut her down. ive started her up 4or 5 times since and has been fine

Replace the ignition switch.

In addition to the ignition switch this can also be caused by the solenoid.
