VCT change problems and pain
Hey guys, first time posting here. As you can see by my name...iv lost a lot of love for FORD but keep on coming back. Sold my 2007 F250 6.0......
and now I am onto a 2008 ford expedition. I was attempting the replacement of thr VCT solenoid..when bam I ripped the gasket and couldnt get it out. 20 min late praise god I got it out!! now I just need to remove the VCT. Ohhh but it wont come out, because of the torx flange....awesome....
My only question is this, must I remove the valve covers. I am pretty sure I know the answer, but I want to read it from some knowledgeable people before I embark on that Bull S**t... My lovely expedtion is a first response truck for our fire department. So I had to use my brand new gasket, secure the old VCT back in place and pray. So far it runs. Help please!!
