Motorcraft plug wires

I have a quick question for those of you who have used Motorcraft plug wires when you did your plugs and wires. Have you noticed that the replacement Motorcraft wires don't come numbered for the cylinder that they're supposed to be used on? I've bought 2 sets of Motorcraft wires and neither one has had the cylinder numbers. I'm just wondering if this is a universal thing or not.

Yep, the wires that you buy from the parts store will not be numbered for your cylinders. This is probably because the same wires can fit multiple different applications and it would be too expensive to label each one specific to the box they put them in. Also, they probably figure that most people replacing spark plug wires will know to do them one at a time and to match the length with the one they took off. When assembling the engines, the operator does not have the benefit of being able to match up the length with a previous wire.
