How about some long beds?
You have a preference for black?................Let me help you out with that......(shameless plug for Buford notwithstanding)......

As for anybody feeling butt hurt about truck knowledge, the simple fact is that none of us know everything there is to know about anything. Some of us know quite a bit on certain subjects, and some of us don't..........but it's the sharing of that knowledge that helps us all improve our understanding of subjects in which we're interested. Sometimes folks need a little correction when their information is simply off-base, like in the previous highboy discussion........and that's just folks being helpful so that owners know precisely what they've got........I know Buford is no highboy, regardless of his stance, because he's a '79, and there just weren't anymore highboys, or the more proper Ford term "Factory High Rider" after 1977.5. But had I not done my homework on this site, or had the help of numerous folks here, I very well could have been under the misconception that Buford was a highboy in the first place.
Now, that being said.......there are times when you have to just walk away from someone that's blathering all they 'know' about these trucks. For example, last year when I had Buford to a show, this kid (pay attention to the "kid" reference.......meaning born AFTER 1979), walked around my truck for a bit, then decided he had to come talk to me. He sauntered up next to me, and with a fairly self-righteous look, said "Yeah, this is a pretty nice truck.......but mine was better.....I had the factory diesel option". I stood there for a moment, looked at the kid who couldn't have been more than 20 years old (post 1979), and realized that he was merely feeling the need to feel superior to someone else. So, I let my temperature gauge come down a bit, and just said, "I see....would love to see your truck.....I'm assuming you have it here, right?" Of course he didn't.....and very probably never owned one, as I've yet to see a 1979 factory diesel F-series truck.........contrary to the Isuzu diesel install on that craigslist add some time back claimed to be "factory". My point is that sometimes you have to realize that arguing with a 'know it all truck guy' is akin to wrestling with a pig in the mud.........after a while, you realize the pig enjoys it. I learned that lesson a long time ago, and I just let the know-it-alls bluster, but I tend to pay attention to guys that honestly try to do their homework, and might know something I don't......as I know I don't know everything there is to know.....even about my own truck (although it's getting harder to surprise me anymore on that particular front).
I know I'm blathering........but my point is simple: Most folks here are for the furtherance of knowledge and enjoyment of our trucks........so it's always best to keep an open mind, as you may learn something.........I know I have many times.
I just taped them off with blue tape. I then brush painted(used brush to get distressed look) using an oil based enamel. After about an hour I took a scotch brite pad lightly dipped in paint thinner to wipe away most of the paint. This made it look worn away from the years. I also used this method for the signs on the doors

Thought I'd add my junk because your trucks look so nice!
Do not know if it really matters to you, but if you are going for a OEM look at the car show, I just though I would let you know.
Here is what it should look like.
Some beautiful rigs y'all got!!
Woody, my 79 with a little load of oak

31 10.50s? That's what I am running on 10" wheels
this might sound crazy but I wash mine with soap/water and 100 grit sandpaper. It takes a small amount of paint off each time and dulls the finish nicely.....adding to the patina. Eventually I will get just the right amount of paint and patina and clear it
