The day Grandpa and I pulled it out of the field it had sit in for 12 years. It's a '76 Custom 4WD with a ton of rust and work to be done but this was Grandpas truck as I was growing up.

This is awesome! I have a similar story. My truck means a lot more than "just a truck."
its a 1978 Ford F-250 With a 400ci 6.6L C6 automatic transmission Married NP 205 Transfer case Dana 44 Front differential Dana 60 Rear Differential Its claimed to have been built at Bob Chandleur's Midwest 4x4 but I haven't found a way to prove it. Truck was originally from Louisville, KY.

I had a friend that had one just like yours back in the 80's, looks tough. Also, the Highboy was from 1967-1977.5, 78-79 were called the lowboy.
draglink that is BADA**!!!! My fiance loves the patina'd trucks. Thinking I may go that route on mine since she's half way there already. But that thing is just awesome!

THANKS!! I saved it from the crusher...has about 10K on a rebuild. There is not a body panel that isn't dented or rusted through....so I just ran with the old patina shop truck look. I get compliments all the time on it....couple more pics I had on photobucket
