64 new toy

Hello everyone, I picked up this 64 with a 292 three on the tree a few months ago here in northern ca. Truck runs and drives great. I have converted it to three on the floor and done a tune up. All accessories work except a mystery toggle switch by the left leg of the driver.(if anyone has an idea) Next plan is to to change the exhaust to some reds headers with some mufflers and x pipe. One question I have is glove box install. I purchased one from Dennis carpenter fits 61-66 but do I have to install it from the back meaning taking apart the heater? Look forward to talking with everyone and helping when I can.

On the glove box install, it will go through the opening and back far enough to do it without removing the heater. Just pinch it together in the center and concave the sides in a little and it will slip in. This is how I did mine. Make sure your antenna wire is taped up under the dash this will keep it out of the way

Is it the push button on the floor?
Mine has a high/low beam headlight switch on the floor.
And also down there mine had the windshield washer switch on/off there as well.

Can you show a picture please.

Yes there is the a push button on n the floor that controls the high beams. Here is a picture I believe it could have been for a spotlight maybe but there were no mirrors on the truck when I bought it. Sorry pic is sideways. Thanks all.

That switch was at some time put in by a PO for an accessory. Perhaps some kind of backup light as they were not available in 64. Spotlights had switches on them. Mine had 3 toggle switches on the floor on the drivers side by where the fuel line came into the cab. Father in law put them in for tractor lights that he mounted to the frame. 2 lights by rear and 2 lights up by the front. They were used at night for seeing things like putting on chains, repairing things that might get torn up while hunting out in the prairies at night. They were pretty handy. the third switch was to send power to the box that had a heater plumbed from the engine with a blower to heat the back that had a topper on it. He had a wife and 4 kids and the kids rode in the back 365 days a year
