I have a 2002 f350 7.3 PS that every time I touch the brake pedal it blows the #6 fuse(trailer tow brake/turn signal) any ideas? Help please I need to use my trailer. Thanks
Seems that I have read on some forums in the past, that the High Mounted Stop Light (the light on the back of the cab close to roof) might have a bad blub in it) Try pulling that bulb and see if that solves the problem.
Also, try the Hazard lights to see if it blows the fuse.
Here are the 2 wiring diagrams for the stop light circuits. You might have a chaffed wire some where in the circuit. Hope these diagrams help.
Well, I disconnected tha light assembly completely and tried it again. Put a new fuse in, touched the brake pedal and poof! Blew it again!! Ugh help please
You have a trailer wiring problem. I would check the trailer wiring from the trailer plug to your lights.
If yes,
Looking at the second diagram....I would look for a chaffed wire that goes from the auxiliary relay box #4 to the trailer plug on the rear of the truck....
trace the yellow and dark green wires from the trailer plug back to the aux relay box 4...some were along the way you will find an exposed wire that is shorting to ground to blow the fuse.
