broken #8 plug 5.4 need Help Guys Please

Hello guys, been working on the ole crown jewel today all day. lol The number 8 plug separated. I got the threaded deck nut out of the plug (PICTURE) but I cannot get the rest of it out. I have pulled and pulled with needle nose and it wont come out like the rest. I cannot get the leverage I need either. I have the filter box and throttle body off.

Took off everything I knew how to get more room. Thinking about taking fuel rail off now. CAN I JUST PRY IT WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND BREAK IT? (that's frustration in all caps) or will that hamper using the removal tool. I stopped and thought I would ask you folks before I do anything else. Thanks for being part of the journey....

I don't understand what you got out already.. But my buddy broke the 7 plug on his truck.. Collar snapped off... We got it out by tapping an easy out to the proper size socket and using an extension we lined it up.. The easy out caught and we were ale to slowly take it out...

Good luck

Welcome to the notorious Spark Plug issue. IMHO you won't pull the rest of that plug out of the hole with long nose pliers - you will have to break the ceramic part off with a long screw driver, pick it out of there with something and use an extractor tool, such as the Lisle Tool.

I hate to see you remove more stuff from your engine - potentially causing other problems - fighting this loosing battle.

Fortunately, there are plenty of threads about this problem.

Good luck.
Thanks you. My issue was that it didn't break off like the other plugs did and I could not pull it so I snapped it with a small prybar then retrieved it with a magnet.
I then used the pusher to break the porcelain up but didn't run it down all the way. Removed assembly and blew out chunks and repeated that 2 more times till all the porcelain was broken. I then followed normal procedure with the removal kit.
Issue closed.
