Ok, so plugs 1, 2 and 3 came out great last night and 4 broke. So I used the Lisle tool and extracted 8. This morning I figured I'd start with #8 to get it out of the way. Well sure enough, it broke.
My problem is this...when putting in the pushing tool from the Lisle kit, I can't get it to thread into the spark plug hole. The push rod bottoms out of the tool and then from my experience with #4 last night, the pusher then screws into the spark plug threads, but it won't thread in. It just continues to spin.
For other's reference, if you don't screw the pusher body into the plug hole before starting to advance the push rod, then there's an increased chance that the pusher body will never catch the threads of the plug hole. The directions don't mention this.
I am glad to read that you solved it yourself, that always feels good! I love the Lisle tool and I think not pushing the ceramic down far enough would be a common error with this tool. I lent mine out to a buddy and he had a similar issue. We just backed up strated at the beginning and figured it out in no time. His was #8 too. Just a little tight back under there, Glad I am right handed that plug requires the proper length extension and a good feel when your torqing. Does not seem right pushing something down toward the bowels of the beast.
I think you nailed it right on the head. Nothing about the Lisle tool feels right...the sounds it makes, the amount of turning you do to it. You just have to trust your couple thousand dollar motor to it!
