Im installing a nav and a back up camera to the truck
I wondered if anyone nee or had a wire chart i could use.
Mainly need help with wireing the nav unit to the truck as far as reverse wire. The nav itself has a pink wire for reves but im bot sure where i wire it to in the truck. Thank you.
I am sure a few have done this.... Going from (OEM) single Din, to the Nav unit double Din. Items needed will be a pigtail to fit your model truck and a filler plate. You should be able to pick up most items on Ebay. What radio is going in?
Have you already bought everything? I know some will chime in "you can do it yourself cheaper!" and stuff like that, but Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, Pro Audio, 4k TV has great service and if you buy a head unit (NAV/Radio/Etc) it will come with everything you need to install it plus instructions. If you get stuck, they have great over the phone customer service.
One thing I would recommend is trying a wireless system for your backup camera. It will make installation easier and you can always run a separate line from the rear if it doesn't have acceptable performance.
Reverse light circuit, right? When the reverse lights light up when the circuit is complete it should turn on camera at same time. Try looking up the wiring diagram for the new models that come out the factory with them
I hooked the reverse camera activation wire to #2 upfitter switch so I can check the load while driving or see the idiot that gets to close at a traffic light.
Many modern head units with a big display include a sense wire to switch the display to the rear camera when the shifter is moved to reverse and then back to the radio or DVD display when you go back to drive. I think that's what he was asking about. It wouldn't be too hard to find poking around with a meter, the OP was probably just looking to save a few minutes and some aggravation.
