Front diff cover 2002 F-350

I was just curious if anyone on here had already changed one of these out. I know they are somewhat prone to rotting out from time to time and my question is; Can i change this out without having to remove any of the steering linkage? Will the old cover just slip off free and clear or do i have to disconnect some tie rods to get it past the ring gear?

I have an 08 and the cover slipped off with no issues. I changed out the fluid a few weeks back

Just did my '04 last week. Only issue I had was the allen bolt. Hard to get to with what I had. Other than that, no issues.

Even if you do have to take a tie rod loose it is only the Driver's side one which is easy. I put a jack under the rod (not on stud) and after taking the nut off just put a slight amount of pressure on jack and then tap sharply on the knuckle (where stud goes through) and it pops loose easily. Makes it easier to get cover on straight without smearing gasket maker around.
