Truck is a 2001 F-250 7.3 with 436,000 miles on it, had it since new. The only thing done to the engine was glow plugs last year.
I am starting to have this issue and I know my description is very vague but.... I will be driving along steady RPM, and the engine will just skip a beat. Sounds like it stops firing for just a second the will resume running. The truck doesn't buck or jerk, lights and radio stay on. Seems like it is happening a little more frequent like 2 or 3 times a week and I drive 100 miles a day. Again I know it could be a million things but does these symptoms sound familiar to anyone?
I had that symptom and it gradually got worse. I cleaned grounds and fuses and swapped relays, could be a host of electric doodobs. In my case it turned out to be the ignition switch. Mounts on the underside of the steering shaft, not where the key goes. Here's a pic of it below.
I forgot about that. But now that you mentioned it I had a CPS go out and I think it was kinda the same symptoms. Soon after they had a recall on them and haven't had the issue since. That was around 2005 so it has been in there for 10 yrs.....

Easy fix, I'll try it and see. Thanks
No problem! Hopefully that's all it is. Make sure you only replace it with one from Ford or International.
