How do I ID a clark 5spd? I've got one I just bought, it was out of a complete hodge-podge 62 f600 with swapped in 330MD. The case has two ribs along the bottom and first and reverse are somewhere in the 7:1 range. Are there and casting numbers or tags on them? This one was in an old DOT truck and it has a ton of grease and tor on it, i could have easily missed something.
If it has 2 ribs around the bottom of it, it's a Clark 264V or VO. The only way to figure out which is to rotate the input with it in 5th, and count the output turns.

Darn, I was really hoping for a 265V. This one has a 1:1 5th gear. The 264V won't solve my 3-4th (4th-5th) gap, oh well, how would I identify a 265V in the field? The yard still hasn't crushed those trucks and I've been thrashing like mad to clean up the rest of the useable stuff. There's at least 4 other clark trannys there.
Are the international and chevy units the same?
By the way, do the 330 MD and HD 330/361/391 use the same depth of bellhousing?
I got the transmission pretty well degreased and the only other number I can find is 219603, it's cast on the top cover near the shifter. There is a tag on the PTO, It's a HEIL,with numbers 253A563. It's one of the biggest PTO's I've ever seen!
One last thing, where would I look for parts? I have the feeling this one will need to be gone through, the input shaft has a good 0.050" of play in it.
By the way, I rotated the output shaft and counted the revolutions, it's a 2.40 or so 3rd gear and a 1.20 or so 4th, those aren't 264V ratios, I'll get some more exact readings tomorrow.
I would have guessed that it was a 262V or 265V in that era. One was even ratioed, the other had a short 4th for closer ratios with a 2 speed in 4th and 5th gear. The shift pattern would be 4 low,5 low, 4 Hi, 5 Hi .
