Week 5 (six if you count the first week that the problem wasn't diagnosed correctly). Called the 800 number and was given a case #, regional service manager contacted me said the part will be shipped to the warehouse on Thursday, and should be at the dealer on Friday (April Fool's Day?) or something like that. We'll see...my confidence level at this point is about a 1 on a 1 to 10 scale. Might see me on the Government Motor's Truck Enthusiasts site after this. Never heard back from "Crystal".

Glad you were able to get this escalated, ndlytal. Please, stay in contact with your CSM until this has been resolved for you. Also, my apologies, but I have to PMs from you in our inbox.
Crystal..... I posted an Email with a history of the electrical issues. Thanks again for your help. I hope this all gets resolved.

Nothing was resolved by the dealer or the regional manager. I did talk with the regional manager and he basically told me the same thing the dealer did. No fault code, so there is nothing they can do. Guess what. Problem again at 97243 miles on February 14, 2016. We were in Alabama escaping the Minnesota winter. Went to use the truck and exactly the same problem that has occurred no less than 6 times. Disconnected the battery to reset the computers and problem went away. Drove 3 miles to where were taking a walk and after our walk, the truck had the same electrical problem. Disconnected the battery to reset the computer and back to normal. I know the dealer told me to have the vehicle towed next time it happened, but we were 40 minutes from a Ford dealer and that would have been a PITA. There is no pattern to when the problem appears. Ford engineers should be capable of figuring out the most likely cause of this type of failure, but pretty certain the problem escalation never went beyond the regional manager. Ford engineering was probably never contacted.
BTW....also had the third brake light leak. Found the leak had stained the roof liner in the back corners of the cab. Wet under the back seats. Looked at the brake light and it had water and debris in it. Went to the hardware store, bought some decent gasket material and silicone and now it no longer leaks.
ok, so I get my truck back on Tuesday last week, it's dead again on Friday morning when I get ready to go to work. It had sat about 15 hours, since I got home from work the previous day. The key wouldn't even unlock manually at first. Finally got the door open so I could open the hood and get the charger on it, let it charge for about 30 minutes and got it started. Back to the dealer. At least this time they gave me another f150 (rented it from Enterprise). I'm so not a happy camper right now. Don't know if I'll ever trust the truck again. First chance I get, it's gone and I'll go to a reputable brand.
and the saga continues...took the truck, both set of keys to the dealer yesterday. Told them I never want to see it again. FINALLY was contacted again by the "regional Ford customer service rep" (oddly enough as I was coming back from dropping the piece of junk off at the dealer). She had the gall to ask if my truck was still running ok. (this was after me trying 3 times last week to contact her and her manager and the second time the truck has failed since talking to her last). So... Truck has been out of commission part or all of 59 out of 67 days. Taken back to the dealer 5 times. BCM, Alternator, and two batteries later it still doesn't work. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS NOW!!! Nothing short of a 100% buyback will make this right. I hate doing customer surveys, but in this case I look forward to ripping a new... Never again will I buy a Ford product.
How unreasonable of me to expect to have use of something under warranty that's less than 16 months old, to be able to rely on it to get me to work and back, to GET WHAT I PAID FOR. Silly me.
if you are approaching them like you have approached us here on the board, it is no surprise that they aren't being very helpful.
this is the most helpful ford truck site on the web, and if you notice, not many have chimed in to try and help you out.
there's a reason for that......
Perhaps, and I might be out on a limb here, if you approached people in a way that wasn't so combative, you'd get more help. Yes, you have a problem with your truck, and that sucks. but you've made it abundantly clear on here that you aren't going to be happy no matter what ... so why do you expect them to spend any time pissing into the wind trying to make you happy?
I don't suppose you would be combative at all. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I've been very patient, but it has worn out. And if you think this website is "helpful" then you have a warped sense of what help is, from the comments of others with similar problems, it appears that I'm not alone. Since you are the "moderator" feel free to remove me and my posts from the site, since they obviously offend you. And then join the other Ford losers and **** into the wind.
So, not to be combative but just to give an update...
Day 1 (2/20/16)- Battery dead, less than 14 months old, went to start on a Saturday morning and dead as a doornail. Used battery charger to get it started and took to the dealer, they replaced the battery, said it had a dead cell.
Day 7 (2-26-16)- Battery dead again, used charger again, took to dealer. After a week of troubleshooting, said it was the BCM, on "National Backorder" would be 6 weeks to get in. (this is where I initially posted on this site and contacted Ford Customer Service)
Day 46 (4-5-16)- Part replaced (week earlier than originally stated), picked up truck and drove happily home.
Day 49 (4-8-16)- Battery dead again, used charger again, took to dealer. After a few days said it was the alternator and would have to order and replace.
Day 53 (4-12-16)- Alternator replaced, picked up truck and drove home - again
Day 56 (4-15-16)- Battery dead again, used charger again, took to dealer. After a few days said it was the battery again (too much abuse).
Day 61 (4-20-16)- Battery replaced (again), picked up truck and drove home - again
Day 64 (4-23-16)- dead again, used charger again, took to dealer. After a few days said it was the keys (yes, I said the KEYS, in my pocket or on my dresser drained the battery overnight)
Day 73 (5-2-16)- Dealer called and said I could pick it up if I wanted, new keys had been cut. At this point I had already told the dealer I didn't want to see the truck again...ever
Day 75 (5-4-16) Was near the dealership and stopped in to see if they had heard anything from Ford about replacing the vehicle, no they hadn't. Asked if they had tried to start it, they said "no, let's go do that" - Battery dead, wouldn't even unlock the doors.
Yesterday, day 80 (5-9-16) - No one has even looked at it (technician that was working on it "quit").
So, in summary, (and to maybe be a little combative) I still don't have a truck, I'm out (or will be very soon) 3 payments, I've missed several days of work, had every weekend for the last 10 weeks ruined and was told BY THE DEALERSHIIP that the "vehicle replacement program rarely works out in favor of the customer"???? I am also told that I will be out several thousand dollars due to "use, wear and tear" on the vehicle (which I would gladly accept if they would just buy the truck back at what it would cost me to replace it, like for like, mileage, wear and tear included), which they apparently won't, instead they want to force another blue oval down my throat, and my only options will be to either "Replace it" under this program, going further in debt or to "trade it in" and take advantage of the "rebates and offers", again going further in debt. So tell me Batman, how would you feel?
Seems like other owners (F150 at least) have had BCM faults but internal to the wiring harness connecting the unit going forward. https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...ical-help.html.
Myself, my headlamps stay on sometimes and drain the battery. Thats with all DRL components uninstalled or disconnected.
My truck was doing the same thing, wouldnt start and power stayed on killing the battery after a night. What i found was a loose ground connection, took a bit of digging to find the problem. It was beside the fuse box by passenger door under plastic covers, once this was tightened everything was ok. Hope this helps with whoever experiences the same trouble. My truck only has 19,000 kms and it happened.
I recently replaced my alternator. For the past month I am experiencing a strange problem. When the engine is cold I will all of the sudden have all the instrument guages, radio and windows go dead. The exterior lights and cooling/heating fan works OK. It will last a few minutes and then come back on. In a few minutes it will do it again. My mechanic thinks it could be the BCM. He says it will probably be around $600+ to troubleshoot and fix it. Any suggestions?
