I am not 100% sure on the trans that is in the F350 in my sig, I believe it is the E4OD, the reason I am asking is because the person who bought it says it has lost 3rd gear, and wants to know how much it would cost to fix. Prior to 3rd gear going out the torque convertor started making noise on deceleration. I am trying to find a good used E4OD so he does not have to pay the $2500-$3500 of a trans shop to R&R that one.
If it has OD it's the E4OD, that would be code E on the drivers door pillar calibration decal. If you go used try to find one from a 94+ truck as they got some updates, these things are expensive to rebuild and note you need a trans from another 460 truck and not a diesel or a small block.
Thanks for the info, it has OD so that makes it an E4OD, I thought that is what it had, but wanted to make sure. And you answered my other question, regarding one from a diesel engine which I can get locally for $500 but didn't know if it would work with the 460. Now I do.
