And I thought I read somewhere there is a "riser" kit to give under seat storage.
When Super Cabs were introduced in 1974, it wasn't too long after...that people complained that the rear bench seat was too low.
It took a while for FoMoCo to do something about it, as 1980 was the first year that the accessory seat riser kit was available.
As I recall, this kit raised the rear bench seat up by about 5 inches.
At the same time the seat riser kit was offered, FoMoCo also offered an accessory under seat lockable storage compartment and an under seat lockable gun safe (!).
The seat riser kit fit all 1974/93 Super Cabs, but the complete kit was not required for 1994/97's.
What was offered for all 1994/97 S/C's: F4TZ-1860518-A .. Panel & Support Assy-Rear Seat Back Floor / Obsolete
There are quite a few available NOS, but depending on what the sources want, the price may or may not "kill the deal." Last MSRP: $330.06 / Dealer net cost: $220.04.
You'll probably want to look at the puppy before you decide to buy it. The closest source to you is = RPN PARTS in Erie PA has 2 = 888-864-9305.
OK, thanks. I'll have to look harder for that lever.
Also, what is the advantage to the jump seats in a supercab? When were they available till?
Here's the lever to release the seat back. With the seat up the lever is almost impossible to see unless you're looking for it.
The only advantage to jump seats I can think of it that they fold up to the sides of the cab and leave the floor space open. I'd rather have the bench and just fold it flat.

A factory gun safe? Got a part number on that NumberDummy? I'd be interested if the price isn't out of this world... I have a feeling it might be though. Lol.
I raised the rear seat in my '90 supercab with a couple pieces of 4" C-channel from my local metal shop.. probably cost me $10. I didn't get the seat belt extensions or the seat back latch so I just screwed the seat back to the rear wall with some sheet metal screws, and the belts still reached though they were a bit harder to use. But there was rarely anybody back there anyway so I could care less, I was just after the under seat room.
The seat belt extensions were free, but the parts guys had to know who manufactured the seat belts to get the correct extensions. The makers name is on a white tag that is affixed to the belt.

The jump seats were next to worthless for adults, too low to the floor with next to no padding. That 'ol member of the military...Major Buttsore soon begins. The seats are OK for kiddies.

It took me 20 minutes to find the part number for the seat riser kit, I also looked for the part number for the gun safe just in case anyone asked...

Where the seat bottom meets the back rest you just pull the bottom up and it flips forward towards the front of the cab.
Then there's a lever on the right (passenger) side of the cab next to the back rest. Trip that lever and the back rest will fold down forwards.
At least that's how it works in my 96 supercab.
On my '95 there were metal loops on both ends of the seat base you could grab to flip it up and forward.
And regarding the riser, if I recall correctly there's a pad attached to the back of the cab, going from just above the seat back to right below the window. If you have the riser do you just remove that and have a shorter backrests?
Regarding jump seats, like Dixie said, they fold flat against the sides of the truck, leaving more room (at least up-and-down room). A friend's Chevy S-10 Extended Cab had those. The only good thing i saw about them as seats was that they made the bench in the Super Cab seem comfortable in comparison.
And like Dixie, I prefer the flat load floor you get when you fold the bench seat down.

My 96 has those too, and I bet Brad's 97 does as well. But I don't use them, its easier to just wedge my hand in between the seat bottom and back rest and pull it up from there.
The rear seat in our old 85 was on the floor. I thought that the 93 or 94 had the seat riser kit already done. The 94 that I just got has the seat much higher than the 85 did.
My 94 has a pull release for the bottom seat to flip it forward in the middleish of the seat, just a nylon pull strap. The release for the back of the seat is on the passenger side at the top of the seat but below the fixed head rest portion.
