not sure,they may have used the allison in a bus or something behind the 7.3.they never used the allison in a f-350.
as for which is better,well i'm on my second E4OD,and i just purchased a 89 donor truck with the ZF5 speed,can you tell where i'm going with this?

Yeah hes right, my friend has a Bronco w/ 140K miles w/ a 1000mi rebuilt E40D in it, but he offroads it hard. My dad has an 01 250 w/ 200K miles with a 55K rebuilt E4OD in it, and doesnt offroad at all (2x4) and rarely hauls with either of our goosenecks.
My little brother has an 01 with an E4OD and 90K that he offroads in, just counting down.
I have a ZF 5 speed, never rebuilt. I offroad hard too.

thanks guys for the reply.I've been told that the E4od can be made bullet proof but a allison are born that way.Im also wonderig if a 454 allison is a little to big for under the hump.Any way thanks guy again ! S.L
